ABOUT ODISHA FILM SOCIETY
WHERE ROOTS MEET CINEMA
Odisha Film Society (OFS) is a cultural collective dedicated to discovering, nurturing, and celebrating independent visual storytellers across all 30 districts of Odisha.

Building a Self-Sustaining Independent Cinema Ecosystem
Odisha has a 2,000-year legacy of visual storytelling — from the prehistoric rock paintings of Bikramkhol to the living Saura tribal murals and Pattachitra scrolls.
The Odisha Film Society exists to bridge this indigenous narrative heritage with contemporary filmmaking tools. We provide the mentorship, equipment access, community screenings, and industry connections necessary to take Odia independent cinema to national and global stages.

Pathways to Feature Films
From Short Films to Big ScreensShort films are the fertile testing ground for visionary directors. OFS provides intensive script labs, producer pitch matchmaking, and feature incubation to build sustainable cinematic careers.

A Note on the Theme
The setting is Tribal. The cinema is limitless.
Our website’s visual language and décor draw inspiration from the rich tribal heritage, art, and cultural identity of Odisha. However, the festival itself remains open to every story, every style, and every cinematic voice.
The design celebrates our roots; the festival celebrates cinema without boundaries.
